It's marvelous, isn't it? Actually, Longji Rice Terraces serve as the perfect example of people being at one with nature. Why is that? Boys and girls, let's go to Guangxi Province to meet the Zhuang and Yao ethnic groups and explore this wonderful, peaceful, and fantastic world. What do you know about them? How about from the aspects of their clothing, art, and festivals?

The Zhuang ethnic minority is the largest minority group in China. 90% of the Zhuang people live in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. How about their clothing? What this is called Zhuang brocade. It's so special and beautiful, right?

As for architecture, the Zhuang architecture is wooden - stilt houses. Some of the stilt houses are built up against hills facing rice paddies. Some are located on the bank of rivers. Regarding festivals, the Zhuang people not only celebrate traditional festivals like the Chinese Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid - Autumn Festival, but also celebrate some of their own festivals such as the Zhuang New Year and Singing Festival. And this picture comes from the Zhuang Ethnic Minority Singing Festival.

Alright, here comes the Yao ethnic minority. Over 70% of the Yao ethnic minority live in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, as well as in Yunnan, Hunan, Guangdong, Guizhou, and Jiangxi.

The clothes of the Yao ethnic minority differ according to the regions where they live. However, their clothes are mainly made of blue cloth with various beautiful designs on the fabric like this one. The Yao are good at handicrafts. Also, the Yao like singing, which is featured at festivals and events such as weddings. In terms of architecture, like the Zhuang minority, a typical Yao house is the wooden stilt house built on a hillside, like this.

Yao people have some important festivals like King Pan Festival (Pan Wang Jie, on the 16th day of the 10th lunar month), Danu Festival (Danujie, on the 29th day of the 5th lunar month), and more.
